County Council and Wildlife Trust Deal To Be Scrutinised
A Surrey County Council (SCC) Cabinet decision to endorse a new agreement with Surrey Wildlife Trust (SWT) for the management of SCC’s countryside estate, including Newlands Corner has been “called in” for scrutiny.

Perhaps they have been surprised and worried by the strength of opposition to the proposals. Could they be listening to the voice of the people at last?

We certainly hope so! We have managed to have the parking charges delayed for six months and now this. Let’s all keep up the pressure.

This is good news. But it is shameful that so much assertive action had to be taken by us, the electorate, for SCC to start considering the democratic thing to do.
